Tailored Sportsman equestrian apparel has been on the equestrian scene for more than 50 years and is made in the USA, which explains why they are infamous for their exceptional quality, comfort, variety, and fit. Further, while Tailored Sportsman is best known for their breeches, they have also emerged as a powerhouse in the sun shirt and belt categories as well. TAILORED SPORTSMAN BREECHES

Finding the right breech can be costly and frustrating, as such Tailored Sportsman is a great one to consider because of the variety in fit that they offer, while maintaining exceptional comfort across styles. Breeches are an essential piece of riding gear therefore, finding the best pair of breeches for you is critical because discomfort while riding can lead to poor communication between rider and horse.

Tailored Sportsman breeches are made of a proprietary 4-way stretch technical fabric and should fit snugly through the seat, leg, and thigh in order to avoid chaffing and pressure marks or worse pressure sores. All Tailored Sportsman breeches are designed with a 2’’ waistband which fits most belts, including their much sought after Quilted C Belt.

TAILORED SPORTSMAN BREECH COLORS

Tailored Sportsman is famous for their huge variety in color options. Their core colors include:

OUR MOST POPULAR TAILORED SPORTSMAN BREECHES

Tailored Sportsman breeches come in a variety of styles, fits, and sizes. Perhaps most importantly is that any Tailored Sportsman style can be ordered in either short, regular, or long. For women 5’6’’ and over we recommend buying styles in a long, and for women 5’3’’ and under you may be more comfortable in a short. Because there are not as many breech options across brands that offer short leg options, we find that some fit confusion can occur when deciding between a short and a regular leg length. When in doubt order the regular, better yet contact us and we can help you decide whether a short would be a good option for you.

At Canterbury Tack & Apparel we carry ladies sizes 22-32, though size 34-36 are available as a special order in any style and leg length at no extra cost. We regularly stock breeches in 24-30 long, and process short leg options as special orders. For the kiddos we stock sizes 6-16.

TAILORED SPORTSMAN TROPHY HUNTER 1963 MID-RISE FRONT-ZIP BREECH ($195) 

These popular breeches have a Euro-styled seat and optimizes comfort with the lightweight TS fabric and four-way stretch. The mid-rise sits 1" higher than a low-rise and has a slightly higher back for a little extra coverage in the saddle. We recommend mid-rise breeches for women with long torsos as it lengthens the appearance of the leg and shortens the distance between the natural waist and the hip. These breeches have the standard two front pockets, Clarino™ knee patches, 2" wide waistband with belt loops, and Velcro® ankle closures.

TAILORED SPORTSMAN TROPHY HUNTER 1964 MID-RISE SIDE-ZIP BREECH ($195) 

The Tailored Sportsman Mid-Rise Side-Zip Breech is an exceptionally comfortable breech. Flattering on every body type, this stylish cut will be sure to impress all on the show grounds or while schooling at home. We recommend this style for show day-especially for the derby but is widely considered the standard in show attire. As mentioned above, this style is flattering on all body types, but we highly recommend these breeches for women who desire a little extra coverage and support in the midsection. Made of lightweight TS fabric with four-way stretch and Clarino™ knee patches. The mid-rise sits 1" higher than a low-rise. Styled with a 2" wide waistband and Velcro® ankle closures.

TAILORED SPORTSMAN 1923 SOCK BOTTOM MID-RISE FRONT ZIP BREECH ($230)

The Tailored Sportsman Sock Bottom Mid-Rise Front-Zip Breech is among the newest editions to the TS trophy hunter breeches. The sock bottom replaces the Velcro bottom for a smooth fit under your boot, while maintaining the classic Tailored Sportsman lines and fit. Made of lightweight TS fabric with four-way stretch, Clarino™ knee patches, and styled with a 2" wide. The mid-rise sits 1" higher than a low-rise. Importantly, these sock bottom breeches run slightly longer in the leg compared to its Velcro® counterpart.

TAILORED SPORTSMAN 1927 SOCK BOTTOM LOW-RISE FRONT-ZIP BREECH ($230)

The Tailored Sportsman Sock Bottom Low-Rise Front-Zip Breech is fast becoming a customer favorite. Like the 1923 the sock bottom replaces the Velcro bottom for a smooth fit under your boot, while maintaining the classic Tailored Sportsman lines and fit. Made of lightweight TS fabric with four-way stretch, Clarino™ knee patches, and styled with a 2" wide. The low-rise sits 1’’ lower than the mid-rise varieties. These sock bottom breeches run slightly longer in the leg compared to its Velcro® counterpart.

Made of lightweight woven TS fabric with four-way stretch for unrestricted movement. With a fashionable Euro-style seat, 2" wide waistband, front zip, belt loops and two front pockets. Velcro® ankle closures keep breech legs securely in place while Clarino™ knee patches provide grip.

Like the Tailored Sportsman breeches for women, the children’s breeches come in a variety of comfortable options for our smaller equestrians. The children’s breeches are offered in the same colors as the women and can be special ordered if a specific color and size is not in stock. What makes these breeches even more appealing is that they are offered in both short and long, so for those tall lanky tweens or for those cute little munchkins we can find the right length. Tailored Sportsman offers breeches in front and side zip with Velcro® bottoms, front zip with a sock bottom, and both front and side zip jodhpur options. The Tailored Sportsman Girls TS Trophy Hunter Front-Zip Breech is our most popular breech for girls and features lightweight TS fabric with four-way stretch. The modified low rise is comfortable and flattering and will look beautiful in the show ring.  What schooling outfit is complete without a sun shirt? For Tailored Sportsman devotees their sun shirts are a must have for any schooling outfit, and a top seller for us. Tailored Sportsman sun shirts are made with IceFil fabric that wicks away moisture and dries fast to keep you cool and comfortable on hot days and warm on cooler days when used as a base layer. Like with their breeches Tailored Sportsman offers a rainbow of color options. We offer sizes XXS-XL and have found that these shirts run true to size.
